(3) 26-1314 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the award of $2,500,000 in Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) grant funds for the Cool Pavement and Shade Structures Project. Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Padilla - Jurado), SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: 1. INSTRUCT the Bureau of Street Services (BSS) to accept the award of $2,500,000 in FHWA grant funds for the Cool Pavement and Shade Structures project and to submit grant reimbursement requests to the grantor and receive the grant funds. 2. INSTRUCT the BSS to expeditiously submit reimbursement requests and that all grant reimbursements should be deposited to the Subventions & Grants Fund, Fund No. 305/50, Account TBD. 3. AUTHORIZE the BSS, in coordination with the City Administrative Officer (CAO), to transfer funding between BSS accounts in order to implement the grant requirements. 4. INSTRUCT the BSS, in coordination with the CAO and Department of Transportation, to report through the annual Transportation Grant Fund report, or other reports as necessary, on the needs for additional front funding to cover project expenses. 5. AUTHORIZE the BSS, or designee, to make any necessary technical and/or accounting adjustments to the recommendations above to effectuate the intent of the Council action. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
