57. Athens Shuttle and Lennox Shuttle Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that these services can be more economically\nperformed by an independent contractor; award and instruct the Chair to sign a\ncontract with MV Transportation, Inc., for Athens shuttle and Lennox shuttle\nservices in the unincorporated County communities of Athens and Lennox (2),\nfor a period of one-year with four one year and six month-to-month extension\noptions, for a maximum potential contract term of 66 months and a maximum\npotential contract amount of $5,716,706; authorize the Director of Public Works\nto renew the contract for each additional renewal option and extension period if,\nin the opinion of the Director, MV Transportation, Inc., has successfully\nperformed during the previous contract period, and the services are still\nrequired, approve and execute amendments to incorporate necessary changes\nwithin the scope of work, and to suspend work if, it is in the best interest of the\nCounty to do so; annually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10%\nof the annual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the contract\nif required; and find that the contract work is exempt from the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act.
