42. Department of Children and Family Services Three-Year Lease\nAmendment\nRecommendation: Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute a proposed\nlease amendment with S.C.P.T. Real Property Holding, Inc., (Landlord), for the\nDepartment of Children and Family Services’ (DCFS) continued use of\napproximately 15,717 sq ft of office space and 36 on-site parking spaces\nlocated at 501 Shatto Place in Los Angeles (2) to be occupied by DCFS, with\nan estimated maximum first-year base rental amount of $425,000, and a\none-month rent abatement of $36,000, totaling $389,000, and an estimated\naggregate total lease amount of $1,278,000 over the three-year term, the rental\ncosts will be funded by 45% State and Federal funds and 55% Net County Cost\n(NCC) that is already included in DCFS’ existing budget, DCFS will not be\nrequesting additional NCC; authorize the Chief Executive Officer, to execute\nany other ancillary documentation necessary to effectuate the proposed lease\namendment, and to take actions necessary and appropriate to implement the\nproposed lease amendment including, without limitation, exercising any early\ntermination rights; and find that the proposed lease amendment is exempt from\nthe California Environmental Quality Act.
