19. Proclaiming April 2024 as “Arts Month” in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Horvath: Direct the Chief\nExecutive Officer to fund Cultural Policy Strategic Plan Strategy 1: “Expand\nGrants to Organizations Serving Diverse Communities,” and report back to the\nBoard during the Supplemental Budget on options to begin stepping up funding\nto double the Organizational Grant Program from $4 ,500,000 to $9,000,000 over\nthe next few years starting in Fiscal Year 2024-25; recognize the value of arts\nand culture and the contributions of artists, arts administrators, arts\norganizations, culture bearers, and arts educators throughout the County ,\nreaffirm the County’s commitment to promoting the arts, cultural equity, and\ninclusion, promote the work of the Department of Arts and Culture by declaring\nthe month of April 2024 as “Arts Month” throughout Los Angeles County; and\nencourage County Departments to share information about Arts and Culture\nopportunities with their constituents and on their social media throughout the\nmonth in partnership with Department of Arts and Culture.
