County Code, Title 8 - Consumer Protection, Business and Wage\nRegulations Amendment\nOrdinance for adoption amending County Code, Title 8 - Consumer\nProtection, Business and Wage Regulations to create a Rent Escrow\nAccount Program (REAP), that provides an additional method to obtain\ncompliance when a Rental Housing Property or Unit is out of compliance\nwith habitability standards and the Landlord fails to correct any cited\nconditions or violations in a timely manner; creates the position of the\nCounty REAP Administrator who is responsible for administering REAP,\nwhich includes, but is not limited to, managing tenant outreach and\neducation, creating an escrow account, and maintaining the required\naccounting documents; and allows a Hearing Officer to order rent\nreductions in line with the severity of the violations as set forth in the rent\nreduction schedule, following the placement of a property into REAP.\nADOPT (24-1471)\nMiscellaneous
