21. Fire Department Lease Amendment\nRecommendation: Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute a\nproposed lease amendment with the City of Los Angeles, for 1.28 acres of\nland, for the Fire Department’s (Fire) continued use of approximately\n32,753 sq ft of hangar space, located at 16200 Daily Drive in Van Nuys\n(Premises) (3), the proposed amendment will add the additional Premises\nto the existing Premises, so the termination dates will be conterminous, the\nestimated maximum amount for the first two months of the term for the\nproposed additional Premises is $15,200, and the first full year of base\nrental costs is $93,400, the estimated total proposed lease amendment\namount is $335,000 over the three-year and five-month term, the rental\ncosts will be funded independently from the County’s General Fund and is\nalready included in Fire’s existing budget, Fire, as a Special District, relies\nprimarily on property tax revenue to provide essential fire protection,\nlifeguard services, and emergency medical services, Fire will not be\nrequesting additional Net County Cost (NCC) for this action and there will\nbe no impact to NCC, execute any other ancillary documentation necessary\nto effectuate the proposed lease amendment, and take actions necessary\nand appropriate to implement the proposed lease amendment; and find that\nthe proposed lease amendment is exempt from the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act.
