8.A. Cannabis Social Equity Study Session\nRecommended Action\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Review and discuss the presentation on cannabis social equity programs\nfrom other cities;\n2. Provide direction on two potential policy options for approach to a cannabis\nsocial equity program within the City of Santa Monica which will determine the\nexpansiveness of a social equity program and timeline by which staff returns\nwith an ordinance; and\n3. Discuss options and provide direction to staff on locational restrictions for the\nadult-use cannabis ordinance.
