6.D. SPONSORSHIP OF THE LAVENDER EFFECT’S EXHIBITION –\n“YOUNG CITY AT WAR” AS PART OF THE CITY’S 40TH\nANNIVERSARY PROGRAMMING [L. MEISTER, J. ERICKSON, Y.\nQUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider sponsoring The Lavender\nEffect’s Young City at War: Stories from West Hollywood during the AIDS\nEpidemic Exhibition as part of the City of West Hollywood’s 40th\nAnniversary programming.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve an Agreement with Community\nPartners (fiscal sponsor for The Lavender Effect) for the Young City at\nWar: Stories from West Hollywood during the AIDS Epidemic Exhibition as\npart of the City’s 40th Anniversary programming and authorize the City\nManager or designee to execute documents incident to the agreement; 2)\nAuthorize the use of the City name and logo on invitations, programs, and\nother collateral materials; 3) Direct the Communications Department to\nutilize all appropriate communications tools to promote the project; and 4)\nAuthorize the Director of Finance and Technology Services to allocate\n$53,600 from unallocated General Fund reserves to the Special Council\nPrograms Account 100-1-01-00-531001 and increase the budget for\nSpecial Council Programs by the same amount; and authorize the Director\nof Finance & Technology Services to approve the use of $53,600 from\nbudgeted funds in the Special Council Programs account number 100-1-\n01-00-531001 for costs associated with sponsorship of this exhibition.
