7. Removal of Existing Crosswalk Located at Arrow Highway and B Street The existing\ncrosswalk at the intersection of Arrow Highway and "B" Street is limited to pavement markings\nand warning signage with no other elements to enhance warning to drivers of potential\npedestrian crossings. With the activation of a new signalized intersection at Arrow Highway and\nA Street, an alternative crossing location within approximately 600 feet of this existing crosswalk\nis now available for pedestrian users. In order to proceed with removal of the existing crosswalk,\nCalifornia Vehicle Code (CVC) §21950.5 requires that a public hearing and notice of the\nproposal be completed.\nRecommendation: That City Council initiate proceedings for the removal of the existing\ncrosswalk located on the east leg of the intersection of Arrow Highway at "B" Street, setting the\npublic hearing for July 1, 2024, and directing the Deputy City Clerk to complete the required\nnotice.
