34. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Urban and\nCommunity Forestry Grant Program Award\nInterim Executive Officer of the Board’s Recommendation: Adopt a resolution\napproving the submittal of an application for grant funds of up to $3,000,000 to\nthe California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection California Urban and\nCommunity Forestry Inflation Reduction Act Grant Program, to support the\ndevelopment of a roadmap for a region-serving, sustainably funded tree\ngiveaway program for County residents and an early-action “Cool Routes to\nSchool” tree planting project, certifying that County funds are available to begin\nthe project, and that the County will expend the grant funds prior to March 31,\n2028, and authorize the Chief Sustainability Officer to conduct negotiations,\nexecute, and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications,\nagreements, amendments, and payment requests necessary for the completion\nof the project; and authorize the Interim Executive Officer of the Board to take\nthe following actions:\nEnter into any contracts and agreements, necessary to support the Chief\nSustainability Officer’s work in carrying out this grant if it is awarded, up\nto the grant amount of $3,000,000;\nNegotiate and execute grant-related amendments to contracts and\nagreements for non-material, technical, and administrative changes to\nthe contract, changes to the scope of work, specifically those\ndeliverables which are needed to support the Chief Sustainability Officer\nin carrying out the work of the grant proposal, extending the contract\nterm for up to two one-year and one six-month period, for a total\nmaximum term of three years and six months, terminating the contract for\nconvenience when such action is deemed to be in the County’s best\ninterest, and/or revising the terms and conditions to align with Board\npolicy changes and directives; and\nAuthorize non-material changes to the contract, pursuant to a change\nnotice, for general County updates.
