21. State of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders in Los\nAngeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Horvath and Solis: Instruct the\nExecutive Director of Racial Equity, in collaboration with the Executive Director\nof the Human Relations Commission, to consult with a representative group of\nAsian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) stakeholders\nand academic and/or research institutions, to create A State of AANHPI Los\nAngeles County report, and report back to the Board biennially on the following:\nFocus areas to be addressed should be inclusive of, but not limited to,\nphysical and mental health, income and employment, housing and\nhomelessness, education, safety and justice, child and youth\ndevelopment, the built environment, and civic participation/voting;\nAn analysis of gaps and barriers regarding access and utilization of\nCounty programs and services to inform the report recommendations;\nAn assessment of the County’s cultural humility, cultural competency,\nand language access practices serving AANHPI communities; and\nFindings and recommendations on actions the County can take to\naddress disparities and disproportionalities across focus areas and\nadvance equitable outcomes for all AANHPI communities;\nInstruct the Executive Director of Racial Equity, the Director of Public Health,\nand the Acting Chief Information Officer, Chief Executive Office, to report back\nto the Board in writing in 180 days on a Countywide data justice policy that\nstandardizes racial, ethnic, cultural, and sociolinguistic data collection,\ndisaggregation, and reporting practices; and\nAuthorize the Chief Executive Officer to apply for and accept local, State, and\nFederal grants, to support the above efforts; and execute any agreements\nneeded to carry out the motion’s directives.
