10. Aligning County Demographic Data Collection with New Federal Census\nRequirements\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Horvath: Instruct the\nExecutive Director of Racial Equity, in collaboration with the Acting Chief\nInformation Officer, and all 38 County Department Heads, to report back to the\nBoard in writing in 180 days with a review of County demographic data\ncollection practices and recommendations to determine how best to align with\nFederal standards, best practices, and a data justice approach on the collection\nof race, ethnicity, and cultural data, including a comprehensive review of\ndemographic categories used by Departments to collect race, ethnicity, and\ncultural data, with the review to highlight discrepancies and alignment across\nDepartments as it relates to demographic data, assessment of the feasibility of\naligning County demographic data collection practices with Federal guidelines,\nand recommendations for implementing new data collection practices across\nCounty Departments to ensure accuracy and promote equity.
