B. Professional Training – 7 Habits of Highly Effective People\nSurvey and Pricing Options At the January 23, 2024 City\nCouncil meeting, Mayor Ly requested for an agenda item to\ndiscuss professional training program and noted, “The 7\nHabits of Highly Effective People”, a book written by Mr.\nStephen Covey. In order to gauge staff interest a survey of\nall full-time and part-time staff was conducted. The survey\nwas sent out a total of 3 times. Out of a total of 250 staff\nsurveyed (64 full-time and 186 part-time), 50 (20% of the total)\ncompleted the survey with 41 being interested in taking the\ntraining and 9 not interested. Out of those 41 interested, 27\nare full-time staff members and 14 are part-time staff\nmembers. Out of the 9 staff members that are not interested\nin taking part in the training, 5 are full-time staff members\nand 4 are part-time staff members. Out of the total number of\nsurveys completed, 78% of staff are interested in attending\nand 22% are not interested.\nRecommendation: That the City Council discuss and provide\nstaff direction.\nStaff Report
