Fire — Accept and Appropriate Fiscal Year 2023 Urban Area Security Initiative\n(UASI) Grant Program Award of $492,015, Approve Subaward Agreement, and\nAuthorize City Manager as the City’s Signatory. Expenditure: None.\nRecommendation of the Fire Chief that City Council:\n1) Accept and appropriate the Fiscal Year 2023 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI)\nGrant Program award in the amount of $492,015 to a newly created Grant Project for\nRegional Training Group — (1) Battalion Chief support, Regional Training Center\nsustainment, training prop maintenance, and Regional Task Force training; and\n2) Approve a subaward agreement with the City of Los Angeles for the Fiscal Year 2023\nUASI Grant Program award in the amount of $492,015 for the performance period\nbeginning September 1, 2023 and ending May 31, 2026; and\n3) Authorize the City Manager to act as the City’s signatory for the agreement; to act on\nthe City’s behalf with respect to all decisions in connection with the agreement; as well\nas to accept and appropriate additional UASI Grant Program funding, if available, from\nthe City of Los Angeles.
