A. INTRODUCTION AND FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 687\nAMENDING CHAPTER 153 OF THE SAN GABRIEL MUNICIPAL CODE\nRELATING TO NONCONFORMING USES, STRUCTURES, AND LOTS (ZTA22-\n001)\nOn September 12, 2022, information and options related to a potential update\nor amendment to San Gabriel Municipal Code Section 153.420 Nonconforming\nUses, Structures, and Lots was presented to the Planning Commission to\nprovide comments. Comments were received and a draft ordinance was\nprovided to the Planning Commission for further consideration and\nrecommendation on November 14, 2022. Following further discussions, the\nPlanning Commission recommended approval to the City Council of the\nproposed Zone Text Amendment (ZTA) (Ordinance No. 687). The Fiscal Year\n2022-23 Adopted Budget included the cost for required legal publication\n(Account 121-702-00-65-000) and codification (Account 121-702-00-22-000)\nof the ordinance, if adopted by the City Council.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Proposed\nAmendments would be exempt under Section 15061 of the CEQA Guidelines\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that that City Council:\n1. Conduct the public hearing and discuss proposed Ordinance No. 687;\n2. Waive full reading and introduce Ordinance No. 687 by title only;\nAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIOL OF THE CITY OF SAN\nGABRIEL, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 153 (ZONING CODE) OF\nTHE SAN GABRIEL MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE\nAMORATIZATION PERIOD FOR NONCONFORMING USES AND\nSTRUCTURES\n3. Waive future reading of the Ordinance and schedule the second reading\nand adoption of the Ordinance for the next regular City Council meeting.\nThe Ordinance would then become effective 30 days after adoption.
