Item 100: Approval to Continue Membership in the Automated Regional Justice Information\nSystem (ARJIS) Joint Powers Agency (JPA) and User Fees for the Police\nDepartment.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThe estimated cost for continuing ARJIS JPA agency membership participation and user\nfees for five (5) years, from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2029, is not-to-exceed\n$9,500,000, and will be funded by the General Fund.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\n(R-2024-560)\nResolution authorizing the City of San Diego to remain a member agency of the\nAutomated Regional Justice Information System (ARJIS) Joint Powers Agency (JPA) for\nan additional five years and authorizing the Mayor, or his designee, to continue to pay the\nCity's share of the annual JPA member agencies costs and fees over the additional five\nyears for continued access to and use of ARJIS computer applications.\nCommittee Actions Taken:\nThis item was heard at the Public Safety Committee meeting on May 15, 2024.\nACTION: Motion by Chair von Wilpert, second by Vice Chair Campillo, to recommend\nCouncil approval of staff’s proposed actions.\nVOTE: 3-0; von Wilpert-yea, Campillo-yea, Campbell-yea, Whitburn-not present.\nPolice: Jordan Fankhauser, (619) 531-2705\nCity Attorney Contact: Jill S.
