Item 105: Approval of CoreLogic’s Realquest Online Services Under the Transparent and\nResponsible Use of Surveillance Technology Ordinance.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThere are no expenditures associated with this action\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\n(R-2024-558)\nResolution approving Corelogic's Realquest Online Services technology pursuant to the\nTransparent and Responsible Use of Surveillance Technology Ordinance.\nCommittee Actions Taken:\nThis item was heard at the Public Safety Committee meeting on May 15, 2024.\nACTION: Motion by Chair von Wilpert to recommend Council approval of staff's\nproposed actions pursuant to the Transparent and Responsible Use of Surveillance\nTechnology Ordinance, with the following requirements met based on the staff report and\nother back up materials; (A) the benefits to the community of the City's acquisition and\nuse of the surveillance technology outweigh the cost; (B) the proposed use of the\nsurveillance technology will safeguard civil rights and; (C) based on the facts and\ninformation presented to City Council, there is no effective alternative to the proposed\nsurveillance technology that provides a lesser financial cost to the City and impact on\ncivil rights or civil liberties.\nSecond by Vice Chair Campillo.\nVOTE: 3-0; von Wilpert-yea, Campillo-yea, Campbell-yea, Whitburn-not present.\nPolice: Sergeant Jake Mosteller, (858) 495-7801\nCity Attorney Contact: Laura DePoister
