4.B. UPDATES TO THE CITY’S COMMISSIONS, AMENDMENTS TO\nTHE ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR APPOINTED OFFICIALS,\nCHANGES TO THE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS TO\nTHE CITY’S COMMISSIONS, TERM LIMITS FOR APPOINTED\nOFFICIALS, AND UPDATES TO THE BYLAWS OF THE\nCOMMISSIONS AND ADVISORY BOARDS [J. JIMENEZ, M.\nCROWDER, L. MORALES, D. WILSON, L. LANGER]:\nThe City Council will consider changes to the name of the Public\nFacilities and the Transportation Commissions, amendments to the\npurview of some of the City’s Commissions, approve term limits for\nappointed officials, approve changes to the attendance policy for\nappointed officials to include parental leave, approve new\nrequirements for applicants to the City’s Commissions, and approve\nchanges to the bylaws of the City’s Commissions and Advisory\nBoards.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve the proposed changes to the\nname(s) and purview(s) of the City's Commissions and direct the\nCity Clerk to return with an ordinance codifying these changes; 2)\nDirect the City Clerk to include parental leave as part of the\nordinance codifying the other changes to the City's Commission\nand a resolution to include parental leave for the City's Advisory\nBoards; 3) Direct the City Clerk to codify term limits for appointed\nofficials; 4) Upon conditional appointment to a City Commission,\nrequire a Livescan background check; 5) Adopt revised bylaws for\nthe City's Commissions and Advisory Boards; and 6) Require\nresidency and proof of residency for all City Commissions.\nSTAFF REPORT\nITEM 4.B. - ATTACHMENT A\nITEM 4.B. - ATTACHMENT B\nITEM 4.B. - ATTACHMENT C
