D. Award Construction Contract for the Soil Removal from the Ofelia\nBringas Memorial Bridge Grade Control Structure and the Date Palm\nDrive Bridge Channel Lining to Contera Construction Corporation\nRecommendation: To award a construction contract to Contera Construction\nCorporation, in the amount of $2,690,521.00 for the removal\nof soil from the Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge Grade\nControl Structure (City Project M00023) and Date Palm\nDrive Channel Lining (City Project M00025) affected by the\nTropical Storm Hillary event, and approve a fifteen percent\n(15%) contingency in the amount of $403,578.15 for any\nunforeseeable costs; thereby, bringing the total soil removal\nbudget for this project to $3,094,099.15; and, authorize a\nbudget amendment in the amount of $3,094,099.15 from the\nGeneral Fund to complete the project; and, authorize the\nCity Manager to execute the required contract documents;\nand, authorize the City Engineer to request bonds and\ninsurance for the project and issue the Notice to Proceed.
