Item 105: Authorize to Enter Into a First Amendment to the Contract with Tom’s Janitorial\nServices Inc. for Janitorial Maintenance Services.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nAuthorization of this first amendment to the agreement will increase the contract amount\nby $739,000 to a total not-to-exceed amount of $3,738,925 through the end of the five-\nyear contract term that expires on August 16, 2026. $442,000 will come from the Police\nDepartment's General Fund and $297,000 will come from the Fleet Operations Division's\nFleet Operations Fund.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\n(R-2024-625)\nResolution authorizing the Mayor, or his designee, to execute the First Amendment to the\nContract with Tom's Janitorial Services, Inc. for an additional $739,000 for a total amount\nnot-to-exceed $3,738,925 for janitorial maintenance services over the existing five-year\nterm.\nCommittee Actions Taken:\nThis item was heard at the Public Safety Committee meeting on June 5, 2024.\nACTION: Motion by Vice Chair Campillo, second by Committee Member Campbell, to\nrecommend Council approval of staff’s proposed actions to recommend Council approval\nof the Consent Agenda, including Items 1 and 2 under the Transparent and Responsible\nUse of Surveillance Technology Ordinance, finding that the Staff Report, Privacy\nAdvisory Board recommendations, and back up materials support findings under San\nDiego Municipal Code section 210.0106(b)(2) that: (A) the benefits to the community of\nthe City’s acquisition and use of the surveillance technology outweigh the costs; (B) the\nproposed use of the surveillance technology will safeguard civil rights and civil liberties;\nand (C) based on the facts and information presented to the City Council, there is no\neffective alternative to the proposed surveillance technology that provides a lesser\nfinancial cost to the City and impact on civil rights or civil liberties.\nVOTE: 4-0; von Wilpert-yea, Campillo-yea, Whitburn-yea, Campbell-yea.\nPolice: Donny Nguyen, (619) 527-7594\nCity Attorney Contact: Jill S.
