5.B. UPDATE ON PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY TO\nSUPPORT COMMUNITY SAFETY [D. WILSON, D. RIVAS, A. SHANDI]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will review and consider the approval of\nproposed policies for the use of public safety equipment and technology to\nsupport community safety efforts in West Hollywood.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Receive an update regarding draft policies to\naddress community and operational concerns and approve implementing\nthe following safety enhancements: Drone as first responder, Fixed real-\ntime cameras, and Real-time watch center; and 2) Authorize the Director\nof Finance and Technology Service to allocate $750,000 ($250,000 -\nDrone as first responder, $250,000 - Fixed real-time cameras, and\n$250,000 - Real-time watch center) from unallocated General Fund\nReserves to the Community Safety Department for technology-related\nsafety enhancements in FY25.\n6.
