REQUEST TO PERMIT THE REPLACEMENT OF ON-SITE ROOFTOP\nSIGNS WITH A TWO-SIDED OFF-SITE, TRADITIONAL BILLBOARD\nSIGN ON THE PROPERTY AND INSTALL PLAZA IMPROVEMENTS\nLOCATED AT 8590 SUNSET BOULEVARD [B. LEAGUE, R.\nABRAMSON, N. MARICICH, J. ALKIRE, J. DAVIS]:\nSUBJECT: The proposal is to remove an existing on-site rooftop sign at\n8570 Sunset and a two-sided on-site rooftop sign at 8590 Sunset and\nreplace these with one, two-sided, up lit traditional, off-site advertising\nbillboard on the rooftop of 8590 Sunset. The proposal also includes\nimprovements to the interior courtyard of the development called “The\nSunset,” consisting of three commercial buildings on one site. The City\nCouncil will hold a public hearing and make a decision regarding the\napproval of Master Project (MP21-0003) including Sign Permit (BB21-\n0001) and Development Agreement Overlay (DA21-0001) for the\nconstruction and installation of a new two-sided, billboard on the rooftop of\nthe building and plaza improvements located at 8590 Sunset Boulevard.\nThis item is subject to CEQA and was analyzed in the Sunset Arts &\nAdvertising Billboard Policy Negative Declaration and a subsequent\naddendum to that Negative Declaration.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Introduce on first reading Ordinance No. 24-\n______: “AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nWEST HOLLYWOOD APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT IN\nCONJUNCTION WITH THE NEW OFF-SITE ADVERTISING BILLBOARD\nAND PLAZA IMPROVEMENTS AT 8590 SUNSET BOULEVARD, WEST\nHOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA”; and 2) Approve the application requested\nby adopting Resolution No. 24-________: “A RESOLUTION OF THE\nCITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD A SIGN PERMIT\nIN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NEW OFF-SITE ADVERTISING\nBILLBOARD AND PLAZA IMPROVEMENTS AT 8590 SUNSET\nBOULEVARD, WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA”.
