Consideration of a Resolution Submitting to the Electors a Ballot Measure to Increase\nthe City’s Sales and Use Tax (Sales Tax) by One Percent (One Cent)\nReference: Lydia Romero, City Manager and Kristen Steinke, City Attorney\nRecommendation: The City Council adopt by a four-fifths vote a Resolution calling an\nelection in the City of Lemon Grove to be consolidated with the City’s next general\nmunicipal election on November 5, 2024 and submitting to the electors a ballot\nmeasure to increase the City’s Sales and Use Tax (Sales Tax) by one percent (one\ncent) by adding Lemon Grove Municipal Code Chapter 3.18 (Sales and Use Tax),\nestablishing the policies and procedures for such an election, requesting that San\nDiego County provide election services, directing the City Attorney to prepare an\nimpartial analysis and authorizing the filing of rebuttal argument.
