Item S403: Call for Nominations to the Privacy Advisory Board. (Added 7/18/24)\nPer Charter Section 43(c), “whenever under the provisions of the Charter or ordinance the Mayor is vested with\nauthority to appoint the members of boards or committees and does not take such action within 45 days after the\nboard is established, or a vacancy occurs, the Council shall make such appointments.”\nThe Privacy Advisory Board has vacancies that have remained unfilled for more than 45 days. A nomination period to\nfill these seats is now open as of Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and will run through Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 5:00pm.\nThe seats for consideration are the following:\nVacant Seats:\n• Attorney/Legal Scholar with Expertise in privacy/civil rights, or a representative of an organization with expertise in\nprivacy/civil rights\n• Equity Focused Organization\n• Equity Focused Organization\n• Equity Focused Organization\n• Member\nExpired Seats:\n• Computer Hardware/Software/Encryption Security Professional\n• Equity Focused Organization\nQualifications for the members of the Privacy Advisory Board can be found in the San Diego Municipal Code, under\nChapter 2, Article 6, or SDMC§26.42. Each Councilmember may submit one nominee per seat. Please include with\nyour nomination memo a copy of the completed application attached to this memorandum, resume, and any additional\ninformation in support of such nominee. Please submit all nominations directly to the Director of Legislative Affairs,\nLuz Anaya, at lanayaluna@sandiego.gov and Heidi Palmer, Legislative Assistant, at palmerh@sandiego.gov.
