18. RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR POLICE\nOFFICER, POLICE CORPORAL, POLICE SERGEANT, AND POLICE LIEUTENANT\nAND A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REVISED CLASS SPECIFICATION FOR PART-\nTIME POLICE RECRUIT AND CHANGE TO PAY RATE FOR THE CLASSIFICATION\nOF PART-TIME POLICE RECRUIT – F2M23-2, R2M23-12, R2M23-13\nAlhambra Municipal Code Section 2.48.070(B) provides that before a class specification\nbecomes effective or other changes are made to the City’s Classification Plan, it shall first\nbe approved the City Council. Staff regularly conduct reviews of class specifications to\nensure that job requirements remain current and relevant. Staff identified necessary\nmandated changes to class specifications for Part-Time Police Recruit and Police Officer\nand added clarifying language for required experience for the class specifications of Police\nCorporal, Police Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant. No changes to salary are proposed for\nPolice Officer, Police Corporal, Police Sergeant and Police Lieutenant. Staff is proposing\ncompensation increases for the pay rate of Part-Time Police Recruit.\nRecommended Action: City Council, by one motion, take the following actions: 1)\nAdopt Resolution No. R2M23-12 entitled: A Resolution of the Alhambra City Council\napproved revised class specifications for Police Officer, Police Corporal, Police Sergeant\nand Police Lieutenant; and, 2) Adopt Resolution No. R2M23-13 entitled: A Resolution of\nthe Alhambra City Council approving a revised class specification for Part-Time Police\nRecruit and change to the pay rate for the classification of Part-Time Police Recruit
