PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT WITH MAJ ENGINEERING FOR THE ADA\nCURB RAMP INSTALLATION PROJECT\nSummary:\nThe City Council will consider entering into a Public Works Contract with MAJ\nEngineering for the Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA, Curb Ramp Installation\nProject. This project consists of the construction of ten new ADA compliant\nRamps at various locations within the City). This project is federally funded by a\nCommunity Development Block Grant (CDBG)\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 4 Infrastructure: Maintain and improve the City’s physical\ninfrastructure, water system and recreational spaces.\nRecommendations:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a Public Works Contract with MAJ\nEngineering for the construction of the ADA Curb Ramp Installation Project\nfor a term of 30 calendar days and a not-to-exceed contract in the amount of\n$135,814.00, in a form approved by the City Attorney.\n2. Authorize a contingency of 10% ($13,581) and up to a 30-day extension to\naccommodate the additional scope of work and any unforeseen conditions.\nThe proposed contingency amount, subject to the approval of the Public\nWorks Director, brings the total construction budget to $149,395.
