15. CONTRACT EXTENSION: OPERATION OF THE ALHAMBRA CITY JAIL – F2M20-32,\nC2M20-54, M2M23-27\nOn September 28, 2020, the City Council awarded a contract (C2M20-54) to G4S Secure\nSolutions for operation of the Alhambra City Jail for a three-year period in an amount not\nto exceed $1,694,715.22 based on the Request for Proposals (RFP2M20-27). Allied\nUniversal acquired G4S Secure Solutions and assumed all the terms and provisions of\nthe existing agreement (C2M20-54) effective October 8, 2021. As indicated in the City’s\nRequest for Proposals, the term of the contract was to be for a three-year term with an\noption to extend for two, one-year terms. Due to the current contract expiring June 30,\n2023 and the contractor’s satisfactory performance, staff requested rates from Allied\nUniversal for the remaining two one-year terms, which were $694,960.92 for FY 2023-24\nand $727,356.72 for FY 2024-25.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve an amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the agreement between\nAllied Universal and the City of Alhambra to provide for the operation of the Alhambra City\nJail for an additional two-year period in an amount not to exceed $1,422,318; and, direct\nstaff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
