Report on the Ongoing Conditions in Men’s Central Jail\nReport by the Sybil Brand Commission, the Executive Director of the Sheriff\nCivilian Oversight Commission, the Jail Closure Implementation Team, the Chief\nDOJ Compliance Officer, the Director of Correctional Health Services,\nDepartment of Health Services, the Director of Justice, Care and Opportunities,\nand the Sheriff, on the ongoing conditions in Men’s Central Jail, the availability\nof mental health care for crisis needs and regularly scheduled treatment; the\navailability of programming for mental health, recreational, and other resources\ndesigned to improve the mental health care and well-being of those in custody\nat Men’s Central Jail; and efforts underway to expand mental health treatment\nand improve medical crisis responses, including those related to suicidal\nideation, as requested at the Board meeting of June 25, 2024.
