6.A. ROUTE 66 SIGNAGE REDESIGN [J. ERICKSON, L. MEISTER, Y.\nQUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff to work with West\nHollywood artist Sküt to redesign the Route 66 signs along Santa Monica\nBoulevard. There will be two complementary designs developed, one with\na rainbow LGBTQ theme in the Rainbow District and one in the traditional\nRoute 66 sign colors.\\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to work with the West Hollywood\nartist Sküt, to develop two complementary Route 66 signs, one with a\nrainbow LGBTQ theme in the Rainbow District and one in the traditional\nRoute 66 sign colors for the other parts of the City; and 2) Authorize the\nDirector of Finance and Technology Services to allocate $5,000 from\nFiscal Year 2024-25 funds in the Special Council Programs account\nnumber 100-1-01-00-531001 for costs associated with the project,\nincluding design and fabrication of the signs.
