62. Bassett High School Stormwater Capture Project Construction\nContract\nRecommendation: Establish the proposed Bassett High School Stormwater\nCapture Project, Capital Project No. 69842 (Project), located within Bassett\nHigh School and its surrounding area in the Cities of Baldwin Park and La\nPuente and in the unincorporated community of Bassett (1), and approve\nthe budget for the preconstruction phase only in the amount of $16,400,000\nto fund the preconstruction activities for the proposed Project, find that the\nrecommended actions to establish the proposed Project is not a project\nunder the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and that\nauthorization to execute a Construction Manager at Risk preconstruction\nand construction agreement is exempt under CEQA; and authorize the\nDirector of Public Works to take the following actions: (Department of\nPublic Works) APPROVE\nExecute a Construction Manager at Risk preconstruction and\nconstruction services agreement with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure,\nInc., for the proposed Project for the maximum preconstruction\ncontract amount of $6,255,000, and the $500,000 allowance for the\nadditional field investigation, testing, and necessary abatement\nservices during preconstruction services phase as authorized by the\nCounty to include, but not be limited to, hazardous materials\ninvestigation and underground utilities verification, and authorize the\nissuance of a Notice to Proceed for the duration of the\npreconstruction phase until final determination of the recommended\nguaranteed maximum price; and\nSupplement the maximum preconstruction contract amount by up to\n25% of the contract amount for the preconstruction phase services.\n(24-3683)
