9. SECOND READING AND ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE UPDATING THE PRIMA\nFACIE SPEED LIMITS IN THE CITY – F96-33, F2M14-9, O2M24-4839\nThe City of Alhambra’s Public Works Department completed an Engineering and Traffic\nSurvey (Speed Survey) for 88 street segments citywide and prepared the City of Alhambra\n2023/2024 Engineering and Traffic Survey. The purpose of an engineering and traffic\nsurvey is to establish updated speed limits that can be legally enforced using radar at pre-\ndetermined locations. The City of Alhambra’s 2023/2024 Engineering and Traffic Survey\ndetermined that 9 segment locations are eligible for a 5 MPH reduction in the posted speed\nlimit. These segment locations are outlined in the Director of Public Works & Utilities’\nAugust 26, 2024 staff report.
