4. SIGNAGE ON PUBLIC SCHOOL PROPERTIES IN WEST HOLLYWOOD\n[J. HEILMAN, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: This item directs staff to develop a pilot program which will permit\nmodern digital signage on public school properties in West Hollywood. The\nsignage would be permitted to display school-related announcements as\nwell as limited offsite advertising pursuant to a development agreement, with\nrevenue being utilized exclusively for the school.\nRECOMMENDATION: 1) Direct staff to work with Los Angeles Unified\nSchool District to develop a pilot program which will permit modern digital\nsignage at West Hollywood Elementary School; 2) Direct staff to draft\namendments to the zoning code to permit such signage; 3) Direct staff to\nissue a Request for Proposals (RFP), in conjunction with LAUSD, for a\nmodernized signage program with limited offsite advertising being permitted;\nand 4) Direct staff to develop a template for a development agreement with\nrevenue from the development agreement being used exclusively to support\nprograms and improvements at West Hollywood Elementary School.
