9. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE\nAWARENESS MONTH [Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, L. FOOKS, C.\nSHROEDER, W. BARRENO]:\nSUBJECT: The West Hollywood City Council will consider recognizing\nOctober 2024 as Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence\nAwareness Month.\nRECOMMENDATION: 1) Proclaim October 2024 as Domestic Violence and\nIntimate Partner Violence Awareness Month; 2) Direct the City to light the\nCity’s lanterns over Santa Monica Boulevard and City Hall in the color purple\nto recognize Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence Awareness\nMonth and “Purple Thursday” from October 16-28, 2024; 3) Authorize the\nuse of the City name and logo on digital collateral materials with partner\nagencies focused on domestic violence/intimate partner violence issues and\nservices; and 4) Direct the Communications Department to utilize all\nappropriate communications tools to raise awareness about Domestic\nViolence and Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month, including sharing\nresources via social media platforms.
