5.B. CONSULTANT TO CONDUCT A CITYWIDE DISABILITY ACCESS\nSTUDY [S. SHYNE, C. BYERS, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J.\nDEL TORO]:\nThe City Council will consider directing staff to develop and issue a\nRequest for Proposals (RFP) to retain the services of a consultant\nto conduct a Citywide disability access study, including review of\nrelated City policies and practices.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve the development and issuance\nof a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from\nconsultants who specialize in disability access and inclusion to\nconduct a Citywide study and provide the City with\nrecommendations; 2) As part of the study, include participation from\nthe City's Disabilities Advisory Board and other significant\ncommunity stakeholders; and 3) Authorize the Director of Finance\nand Technology Services to allocate $75,000 from unallocated\nGeneral Fund reserves to the Social Services Division, Studies &\nPlans Account 100-3-05-53-533009, for costs associated with a\nCitywide disability access study.\nSTAFF REPORT
