Department of Animal Care and Control Headquarters Fencing Project\nConstruction Contract\nRecommendation: Approve the Department of Animal Care and Control\nHeadquarters Fencing Project, Capital Project No. 87927, located at 5898\nCherry Avenue in the City of Long Beach (Project) (4), with a total Project\nbudget of $1,650,000; approve an appropriation adjustment to transfer\n$847,000 from the Provisional Financing Uses Budget Unit to the Project, to\nfully fund the proposed Project; adopt plans and specifications that are on file\nfor construction of the Project; advertise for bids to be received by 11:00 a.m.\non November 7, 2024; find that the proposed Project is exempt from the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of Public\nWorks to take the following action: (Department of Public Works) ADOPT\nDetermine that a bid is nonresponsive and reject a bid on that basis,\nwaive inconsequential and nonmaterial deficiencies in bids submitted,\nand determine, in accordance with applicable contract and bid\ndocuments, whether the apparent lowest responsive and responsible\nbidder has satisfied all conditions in a timely manner for contract award,\nupon such determination, authorize the Director to award and execute\nthe construction contract to the apparent lowest responsive and\nresponsible bidder if the low bid can be awarded within the approved total\nProject budget, and take all other actions necessary and appropriate to\ndeliver the Project.
