Longitudinal Study for Effectiveness of County Veteran Service Officers\nSole Source Contract\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Military and Veterans Affairs to\nexecute a sole source contract with the University of Southern California (USC)\nto conduct a longitudinal study of 1,000 veterans to assess the effectiveness of\nCounty Veteran Service Officers, for a maximum contract amount not to exceed\n$294,321 over a two year term, funded using a Productivity Investment Funds\ngrant recently awarded to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs; and\nexecute contract amendments with USC as needed, throughout the contract\nterm, to increase or decrease the maximum contract amounts provided that the\ntotal allocations do not exceed funding availability.
