11. Proclaiming October 15, 2024 as “L.A. Found Day” in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Hahn and Barger: Proclaim\nOctober 15, 2024, as “L.A. Found Day” throughout Los Angeles County, in\nrecognition of the program’s significant contributions, this proclamation\nreinforces the County’s commitment to compassionate care and support for\nindividuals and families affected by conditions, such as Alzheimer’s, other\ndementias, autism, and cognitive impairments, ensuring that all residents\nreceive the assistance they need in critical times, thereby enhancing their\nquality of life and overall safety and well-being; and take the following actions:\nInstruct the Director of Personnel to require all County employees, by\nJune 2025, to complete training entitled, “L.A. Found: Assisting Critical\nMissing Persons,” which is available on the County’s Learning Net, and\ninstruct Department Heads to report back to the Director of Personnel\nwithin 60 days on any barriers that might exist to rolling out the training\nDepartment-wide to current employees; and\nInstruct the Director of Aging and Disabilities to continue conducting\ncommunity outreach events and educational webinars about L.A. Found,\nin addition to providing outreach material to the community and residents;\nand conduct a webinar available to all regarding L.A. Found, which could\nbe posted on their Departmental website and also on social media\naccounts, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram,\nwhich is focused on L.A. Found and services provided by the Aging and\nDisabilities Department. (24-4499)
