38. Training and Staff Development, and Master of Social Work Internship\nProgram Service Sole Source Contract Amendment\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Children and Family Services to\nexecute an amendment to extend the contract with the Regents of the University\nof California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for the provision of staff training and\ndevelopment services, and as a Master of Social Work (MSW) Internship\nProgram through June 30, 2025, and increase the Maximum Contract Amount\n(MCA) by $9,481,434 for a new MCA of $14,691,867, 75% funded by Federal\nfunds, and 25% 2011 State Realignment/Net County Cost, with sufficient\nfunding included in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Adopted Budget; and authorize the\nDirector to take the following actions: (Department of Children and Family\nServices) APPROVE\nExecute amendments to increase or decrease the MCA up to 10%, if\nsuch an amendment is necessary to meet a change in service demands\nand the necessary funding is available in the budget;\nExecute amendments to the contract to make changes to the scope of\nwork or the terms and conditions to meet program needs;\nTerminate the current training and staff development contract with UCLA\nin order to execute the new contract that was authorized by the Board on\nJune 4, 2024; and\nExecute Title IV-E stipend agreements with individual student trainees\nenrolled in MSW degree programs, the cost of the education stipends is\nincluded in the training and staff development contract with UCLA, and\nthe Title IV-E stipend agreements allow the student trainees to receive the\neducation stipend on the condition that they agree to work for the\nDepartment of Children and Family Services for a two-year period upon\nearning their degree.
