10. Proclaim October 2024 as “LGBTQ+ History Month” and declare October\n11, 2024, as “National Coming Out Day” in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Hahn and Horvath: Proclaim the\nmonth of October 2024 as “LGBTQ+ History Month” throughout Los Angeles\nCounty; proclaim October 11, 2024, as “National Coming Out Day” throughout\nLos Angeles County; and take the following actions:\nDirect the Chief Executive Officer to work with the County Librarian and\nthe Director of Arts and Culture, to uplift and encourage attendance to\nONE Institute’s LGBTQ+ History Festival, CIRCA, happening during the\nmonth of October/LGBTQ+ History Month; and\nDirect the Chief Executive Officer, through the Countywide\nCommunications Office, along with all County Department Heads, and\nrequest that the Sheriff, District Attorney, Assessor, and Superintendent\nof Schools of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, to work with\nthe County Librarian and the Director of Arts and Culture, in promoting\nand sponsoring their LGBTQ+ History Month related events, programs,\nand resources, including on respective websites and social media\nplatforms.
