1. COMMENDATION: MR. LEWIS MCCAMMON – F2M24-3\nMayor Pérez wishes to congratulate and commend Mr. Lewis McCammon in recognition\nof his lifetime of contributions to our community. Mr. McCammon has dedicated his life to\nmaking a positive difference in his community such as lowering the voting age from 21 to\n18 in 1968, participating in landmark legal cases that reformed candidate filing fees and\ncontributions, and supporting marginalized communities through organizations like the\nUnited Farm Workers. As a math, history and physics teacher, he dedicated over three\ndecades of his career to improving student outcomes in Los Angeles Schools, establishing\nscholarship programs for underrepresented students, and advocating for teacher rights.\nMost importantly, Mr. McCammon is a proud lifelong resident of Alhambra where he\nmakes significant contributions to discussions on land use, zoning and affordable housing\nand is also a member of the City’s HCDA Citizen Advisory Committee. The City of\nAlhambra is proud to honor Mr. McCammon’s many efforts which have left an indelible\nmark on our community. Mayor Pérez will present the commendation to Mr. Lewis\nMcCammon.\nPRESENTATIONS
