Empowering Communities Through Free Tax Preparation and Individual\nTax Identification Number Services\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Mitchell: Authorize the Director of\nConsumer and Business Affairs to apply for and accept grant funding from\nFederal, State, and philanthropic sources, that support Free Tax Prep Los\nAngeles, Claim Your Cash Los Angeles, tax preparation, Individual Tax\nIdentification Number (ITIN) assistance and tax credit awareness efforts, with\nthe requirement to notify the Board upon acceptance of such funding, subject\nto any applicable funding restrictions; negotiate, execute, and amend contracts\nand/or memorandum of understanding with relevant Departments,\ncommunity-based organizations, consultants, and service providers, as\nnecessary, to implement Free Tax Prep Los Angeles, tax preparation, ITIN\nassistance, and tax credit awareness efforts; and waive the requirements of\nBoard Policy No. 5.100 for these agreements.
