48. On-Call Pressure-Reducing Valve Annual Inspection and Repair Services\nfor Seawater Barrier Projects Contract\nRecommendation: Award a contract to Cla-Val Company, for on call\npressure-reducing valve annual inspection and repair services for seawater\nbarrier projects located within the County Flood Control District’s South\nMaintenance Area (2 and 4), for a term of one-year with three one-year and six\nmonth-to-month extension options, for a maximum potential contract term of 54\nmonths and a maximum potential contract amount of $2,149,113, with funding\navailable in various Department of Public Works funds (Services and Supplies)\nFiscal Year 2024-25 Budgets; find that the contract work is exempt from the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of Public\nWorks to take the following actions: (Department of Public Works) APPROVE\nExecute the contract, exercise the extension options if, in the opinion of\nthe Director, Cla-Val Company, has successfully performed during the\nprevious contract period, and the services are still required, approve and\nexecute amendments to incorporate necessary changes within the scope\nof work, and suspend and/or terminate the contract for convenience if it\nis in the best interest of the County; and\nAnnually increase the contract amount up to an additional 10% of the\nannual contract amount, which is included in the maximum potential\ncontract amount, for unforeseen additional work within the scope of the\ncontract, if required, and adjust the annual contract amount for each\noption year over the term of the contract to allow for an annual Cost of\nLiving Adjustment in accordance with County policy and the terms of the\ncontract.
