City Council repeal Ordinance No. 626 which established the Mayor and City Council\nMember stipend amounts in 2022.\n2. City Council introduce and conduct the first reading of Ordinance No. 656 to approve an\nincrease in the City Council stipend amount from $850.08 per month to $1,275.00 per\nmonth for each Council Member, and from $1,108.80 per month to $1,657.50 per month\nfor the Mayor, in accordance with Government Code § 36516.

1. PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF ADELANTO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE\nASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1, ANNEXATION OF BELLFLOWER-TRACT 20675\n(2024-033)CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT. (KAVOUSE/RICHARD)\nRECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council take the next and final steps to\ncomplete the annexation process for Tract 20675.\nIt is requested that the City Council open the Public Hearing regarding the annexation of Tract\n20675 to the District and the proposed assessments in order to accept public testimony and any\nwritten protests regarding these proceedings. Upon conclusion of the public testimony, the Mayor\nwill close the Public Hearing and direct the City Clerk or their designee to open and tabulate the\nballots received, which may take a few minutes. Upon completion of the tabulation, the City\nClerk will present to the City Council the results of that tabulation which will be in the form of\ntotal dollars ($) in support of the assessments (“Yes” votes) and the total dollars ($) opposed to\nthe assessments (“No” votes); and as a matter of procedure, the City Council would then adopt the\nfirst of two resolutions which formally declares the results of the protest ballot proceedings.\nBased on the weighted ballot tabulation results, if the “No” votes exceed the “Yes” votes then\nthere is a majority protest of the proposed assessments, and the City Council will abandon any\nfurther proceedings at this time to annex this Annexation Territory to the District or to levy the\nannual assessments.
