CIP 22-043 - Susan Rubio Zocalo Park and Civic Plaza Project Update\nIt is recommended that the City Council: 1) Direct Staff to select content\nfor six (6) interpretive signs based on historical and cultural elements that\nhighlight the City of Baldwin Park's unique history over the years. Staff will\nbring back the selected content for City Council approval at a subsequent\nmeeting; and, 2) Authorize the Director of Community Development to\npublicize the availability of retail spaces for lease to the open market and\nbring back a listing of recommended commercial vendors for City Council\nconsideration; and, 3) Authorize the Director of Public Works to negotiate\nand execute contract change order for the design and installation of two\n(2) grease interceptors for the retail spaces; and, 4) Authorize the Director\nof Public Works to execute a contract change order in the amount of\n$40,520 from the approved contingency budget for the redesign of the\nproposed Alley Road to accommodate changes resulting from\nnegotiations with the various property owners; and, 5) Authorize the\nDirector of Finance to make the necessary budget adjustments.\nSTAFF REPORT

Fiscal Year 2023-24 Amended Budget\nStaff recommends that Council: 1) Authorize the Director of Finance to\nappropriate funding and make necessary budget amendments for FY\n2023-24 based on the final approval of the requested positions; and 2)\nAuthorize the Director of Finance to assign $800,000 from the estimated\nGeneral Fund Surplus due to the one-time General Fund revenue to meet\na portion of FY 2024-25 General Fund obligations/operation; and 3)\nAuthorize the CEO and Human Resources to begin the hiring process for\nthe approved requests by the City Council; and 4) Bring back a resolution\nto revise the Comprehensive Pay Schedule to reflect the approved\npersonnel requests in accordance with CalPERS Guidelines and the job\ndescription for the new positions to the next City Council meeting.\nSTAFF REPORT
