Electric Forklift Grant Application and Purchase Utilizing EECBG Grant\nFunds for the Public Works Maintenance Division\nRecommendation: To approve the submission of an Application to the\nDepartment of Energy for EECBG grant funds for the\npurchase of alternative fuel heavy equipment for the Public\nWorks Division; and, authorize the City Manager to execute\nall required documents required for the purchase of one (1)\nElectric Pneumatic Lithium Powered Forklift in the amount of\n$104,965.50; and, authorize the Director of\nEngineering/Public Works to execute required quotes and\npurchases in an amount not to exceed $7,954.50 for the\ninstallation of an electrical system to support the Electric\nForklift at the Public Works Facility.

Panorama and Century Park Renovation Projects\nRecommendation: To authorize the City Manager to execute the documents\nrequired for repairs to the Tennis Courts at Panorama and\nCentury Parks and for the extension of the basketball court\nat Panorama Park to a full size court in the amount of\n$194,402; and, authorize the Director of Engineering/Public\nWorks to execute all required quotes and proposals for the\nCathedral City Page 3\nlabor and materials to complete the Panorama Park\nbasketball court Project in the amount of $9,000, for a\ncombined Project total of $203,402, which includes a 10%\ncontingency of $20,340.20 for unforeseen construction\nrelated expenses all to be funded from FY 2021-22 and\n2022-2023 Parks Improvement and Maintenance Plan.

Retired Annuitant for Battalion Chief\nRecommendation: Staff recommends City Council approve a Resolution\napproving an exception to the 180-day CalPERS waiting\nperiod, hiring a retired annuitant as an interim Fire Battalion\nChief and to fill a critical need in the Fire Department;\nauthorizing staff to reinstate Stephen Tumir, as a Retired\nAnnuitant, due to his specialized skills and experience to\nperform Battalion Chief work on a limited duration, at a rate\nof $54.91 per hour, through October 31, 2023, and to\nprevent potential impact to the operational readiness of the\ndepartment.
