CONTRACT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE CONSERVATION CORPS\nOF LONG BEACH (CCLB)\nSummary:\nThe Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) is a non-profit corporation\ncommitted to providing at-risk youth in the greater Long Beach area with\neducational and career development opportunities through paid on-the-job\ntraining as well as career and conservation awareness programs. CCLB\nparticipants provide assistance to the Public Works projects with maintenance\nand special projects on an as-needed basis. Staff recommends entering into a\nContract Services Agreement with CCLB to provide continued maintenance\nsupport services to the Public Works Department in the amount of $160,797.60,\nfor a three-year term.\nRecommendation:\nAuthorize the City Manager to enter into a Contract Services Agreement with\nCCLB in the amount of $160,797.60, for a three-year term, in a form approved\nby the City Attorney.

b. EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT OF A WATER DISINFECTION SYSTEM AT\nTEMPLE RESERVOIR\nSummary:\nThe City Council will consider entering into a emergency sole source contract\nwith D&H Water Systems, for an amount of $171,890, to construct a new\ndisinfection station at Temple Reservoir. The installation of the disinfection\nstation is necessary to satisfy action requested by the State Water Board and to\nmaintain drinking water standards. The work is anticipated to be completed by\nNovember 2023. Existing funds in the Water Department budget will cover the\ncost of this emergency work; no additional funding is necessary at this time.\nRecommendation:\nAuthorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with D&H Water Systems for\nthe construction of a new disinfection station at Temple Reservoir, in a form\napproved by the City Attorney. The term of the agreement will terminate on\nNovember 9, 2023, with a not-to-exceed contract amount of $171,890.

a. RESOLUTION DECLARING FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF WELL NO. 8\nDEMOLITION AND WELL NO. 10 CONSTRUCTION (PROJECT NO. 95.18011)\nPURSUANT TO THE PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT WITH PASCAL & LUDWIG\nCONSTRUCTORS, INC. (P&L)\nSummary:\nPascal & Ludwig (P&L) completed the work for the Well No. 8 Demolition and\nWell No. 10 Construction (Project No. 95.18011) to the satisfaction of the Public\nWorks Department and in accordance with the project plans and specifications.\nFinal cost of the construction was $3,143,765.15.
