34. FIRE STATION HEADQUARTERS OFFICE RENOVATION – AUTHORIZATION TO\nADVERTISE FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS (PUBLIC WORKS)\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1) Approve adding the Fire Station Headquarters Office Renovation project to the\nCapital Improvement Program; and\n2) Appropriate $1,134,000 from the Utility Users Tax (UUT) Capital Improvements\nFund to the Fire Station Headquarters Office Renovation project; and\n3) Approve the Plans and Specifications for the subject project; and\n4) Authorize the City Engineer to advertise for construction bids; and\n5) Authorize the purchase of office furniture for the Fire Station Headquarters from\nTangram, utilizing cooperative purchasing through Sourcewell Contract Number\nNovember 12, 2024: City Council Meeting Page 13 of 17\n091423-STI and authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order to\nTangram in the amount of $175,116.59; and\n6) Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to conduct all negotiations, and to\nexecute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, purchase orders,\nagreements, amendments, payment requests and so forth, which may be\nnecessary for the completion of project; and\n7) Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with WILLSCOT in the amount\nof $59,620.35 for Fire Department temporary office trailers; and\n8) Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Exemption for the subject project with\nthe Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder; and\n9) Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.
