42. APPROVAL OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND BETWEEN\nTHE CITY OF SANTA FE SPRINGS AND THE WHITTIER UNION HIGH SCHOOL\nDISTRICT REGARDING COLLABORATION AND FINANCIAL COMMITMENT TO\nTHE PROPOSED ATHLETIC FACILITIES PROJECT AT SANTA FE HIGH\nSCHOOL (PARKS & RECREATION)\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council:\n1) Approve the attached Memorandum of Understanding By and Between the City\nof Santa Fe Springs and the Whittier Union High School District Regarding\nCollaboration and Financial Commitment to the Proposed Athletic Facilities\nProject at Santa Fe High School; and\n2) Appropriate $1.76 million from the City’s Utility Users Tax to fund the City’s\ncontribution to this project\n3) Directs the City Attorney to make clarifying changes necessary to effectuate the\nintent of the Agreement; and\n4) Take such additional, related action that may be desirable.\nNovember 12, 2024: City Council Meeting Page 16 of 17
