15) CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF FOUR POLICE VEHICLES AND INSTALLATION\nOF REQUIRED EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT, ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE THE\nFUNDS, AND APPROVE DISPOSITION OF SURPLUS CITY-OWNED VEHICLES\nRecommend that the City Council:\na. Approve the purchase of four 2025 Ford Explorer police vehicles from National Auto Fleet\nGroup through Sourcewell’s Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract #091521-NAF, in\naccordance with Chapter 2, Article VI, Division 6, Section 2-802 of the City of San Fernando\nMunicipal Code;\nb. Authorize the City Manager to execute a Purchase Order with National Auto Fleet Group in\nan amount not to exceed $245,213 for the purchase of the four vehicles;\nc. Approve a contingency up to $24,521 for any additional costs due to unforeseen vehicle\npurchase related costs;\nd. Approve the purchase of required emergency equipment for outfitting the vehicles in an\namount not to exceed $70,582 with a 10% contingency for unforeseen costs associated with\nequipment installation through an existing agreement with Dana Safety Supply, Inc.;\ne. Approve the purchase and installation of required emergency police radio equipment for\nthe new canine vehicle in an amount not to exceed $11,767 through an existing purchase\norder with Bearcom Inc.;\nf. Adopt Resolution No. 8345 to appropriate Equipment Maintenance and Replacement Fund\nbalance in the amount of $352,083 for the purchase of Police fleet vehicles and the cost\nassociated with outfitting of the vehicles with emergency police equipment;\ng. Declare all vehicles listed in Attachment “C” as surplus and authorize the City Manager, or\ndesignee, to dispose of surplus City-owned vehicles, in accordance with Chapter 2, Article\nVI, Division 7, of the San Fernando Municipal Code; and\nSpecial and Regular Meeting Notice and Agenda – November 18, 2024\nh. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to make non-substantive changes and execute all\nrelated documents.
