3-G. BRUGGEMEYER LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS – AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF NEW\nINDUSTRIAL POWER DIESEL GENERATOR FROM GENERAC INDUSTRIAL\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Waiving the bidding requirements pursuant to Monterey Park Municipal Code Section\n3.20.050(4), and authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Generac\nIndustrial, in a form approved by the City Attorney, not to exceed $167,497;\n(2) Authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve change orders and contingency up\nto $16,750; and\n(3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.\nCEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):\nThe City reviewed the environmental impacts of the extension under the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq. “CEQA”) and the\nregulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code of Regs. §§ 15000, et seq., the “CEQA\nGuidelines”). CEQA Guidelines §§ 15060(c)(2), 15061(b)(3), and 15378 exempt activities that\nwill not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment,\nactivities where there is possibility that it may have a significant effect on the environment, and\nactivities that do not constitute a “project” as defined, respectively. This activity contemplates\npurchasing equipment only. Subsequent installation and construction will be evaluated\nseparately under CEQA. Accordingly, this activity is exempt from further review.
